This morning Cameron showed off his "me bag"!
Today in science we looked at pictures of famous scientist's notebooks. We observed how they drew pictures, graphs, labeled, and used detailed notes just like we do in ours! We finished setting up our own science journals that we will be using throughout the school year.
We wrote our first entry: "What I am excited for in science."
Today in math we reviewed an array. We learned that a number may be made by multiplying two or more other numbers together. The numbers that are multiplied together are called factors of the final number. We practiced taking a number (12) and finding the factors for that number (1,2,3,4,6,12). We could then make arrays by using dimensions that equaled that number!
We got into pairs. Mrs. Forsong gave us a number which we had to find the factors for. We then took those factors, decided the dimensions, and then drew the arrays on graph paper!
If my dimensions are 2 X 2, can you figure out my number?
We took a gallery walk around the room to see all of the arrays! We learned that some numbers have more factors, which means we can make more arrays! Some numbers only have a few factors, which means only a few arrays.
