Decimals and Fractions

In science we have been working with changes caused by heating and cooling.
We know that the hotter an object gets, the more energy the atoms have. The cooler an object gets, the less energy the atoms have!

We did an experiment today to see what would happen to a solid (Hershey Bar) if we heated it up. We made predictions and then watched as the atoms got more energy and turned into liquid!
In math we are working on converting fractions into decimals. We thought about it as money. 100 pennies = 1 dollar.
57/100 as a fraction
is like
0.57 as a decimal
("fifty-seven hundredths")
and converts to
$0.57 or 57¢ as money

We practiced shading in 100s charts and converting them to fractions and decimals!
