Water Cycle

Today in science we began learning about the water cycle. We began by reading "Water Dance".
Then we made an acrostic poem about the watery cycle!
We wrote down things that we already know about the water cycle. We will be looking at it later in the week to see if there is anything we wanted to change or add detail to.
Today in math we learned how to multiply two digit by one digit numbers. We know that if we have a problem (15x3) and we double one of the factors (15x6) the product will also be doubled.
So, 15x3= 45 and 15x6=90.
We practiced coming up with problems and doubling the factors. We double checked our products to make sure they were also doubled!
We shared a few examples with the class.
We also learned another trick. If we are looking at a problem (10x4) we can get the same product if we multiply one factor by 2 and divide the other factor by 2 (20x2).
